About the Role:

201 Dance Company is holding auditions for dancers to join us in rehearsing and touring our latest production: “Sad Book”. We’re looking for UK based performers aged 18+ with a strong contemporary and/or street dance background. 

​

About the Production:

“Sad Book” is an adaptation of Michael Rosen’s award-winning book that explores, in simple language, what it means to be sad. Directed and Choreographed by Andrea Walker, it chronicles a writer’s grief at the death of his son, and how he continues his life afterwards. It’s a moving combination of sincerity and simplicity, acknowledging that sadness can be a normal part of life. 201 has a reputation for emotionally-engaging work, and we are ecstatic to be bringing this beautiful piece of writing to the stage. The show had its premiere at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, where it was a Top Stage Pick by The Guardian and a Top Dance Pick by The Scotsman.

 

Dates:

We’re looking for dancers who can commit to:

- 24th to 28th of February: rehearsals in London

- 10th to 16th of March (UK touring week 1)

- 27th March to 3rd April (UK touring week 2)
